We had so much fun at our party the other night that this is the only photo I managed to shoot. The brisket, Roscoe, the bluegrass, and the fried pies (above) all a big hit. People were all about the buttermilk fried pie… none left. It was pretty hot and many of our guests were squeezing our party into already chock full weekends. May is so busy. Our friend Henry arrived at 3 o’clock in the morning to start the fire
for smoking the brisket…3 o’clock folks! Next year we’ll start later
so he can get here at a more civilized hour and we can take advantage of the cooling off in the evening. The fireflies were amazing… so many this year.
Oh, and you can now call me Council Woman… elections were Saturday and I get sworn in tonight. What a trip….off to pull a dress out of the closet, it’s like school picture day.

Oh sweetie, that’s so wonderful, a big congrats!(Governer to be) Since you spent all those years in DC, I bet you will keep em honest. Glad you had a good time at your party. Our sun is finally peeking it’s head out up here. yea. Apparently we are going from the heater on, to 90 degree days this week. I’m bummed. I have a new ‘outfit’ my Mom bought for me at Chicos. Its been too cold to wear it, and with the 90 degree weather, it will be too hot. waaa Geez, I want a day or two of spring!
Now thats what I call a quality problem huh?
