After getting as far as the sleeves, yes the sleeves, i decided the fabric was just too drapey for the pattern. Sooo… it’s unravelled and will make a swanky poncho instead. I believe the pattern needs a more elastic yarn to work well and not be droopy. Hope to finish tonight because I am already a little tired of looking at the pink yarn…I’m ready to move on.

Kimono over here…..
I’ve been interviewing, trying to land a new, super high paying job. Well, I work in publishing so a new, better paying one will do. All the nervousness has made me knit more, which I guess is a plus. I’m knitting a little kimono-style jacket for my firends bay girl, Grace, in a fuscia yarn called TuTu by dea moda. It’s aslo time to start cracking on a shower gift once more. man is it baby season. Weel here’s a photo of th epattern I’m following. I can only hope it turns out as cute.

Sleep on it….
I was up until 2 am sewing on his arms and woke up early saturday morning to give him a face and ears before I left for the shower that he was a gift for…whew! I was loosely following a pattern in Last-Minute Knitted Gifts. I was having a hard time wrapping my brain around the use of the circular needles to knit the body from the legs up (or I was too engrossed in “The People VS. Larry Flint”). Either way, I went to bed a bit defeated and when I woke up I put on some coffee and picked up my sticks and knew exactly what to do. I had decided that DPNs made more sense to me…and finished in no time. I used Berroco Plush instead of the yarn called for…it is so soft. Next time I will not increase as many stitches for head IT WAS HUGE!
