First Bluebonnets!

Bluebonnets03macro_1
Thrilling news….just spotted the first bluebonnets of the season this morning on my drive into work. Wow, I now live far enough out of the city to enjoy a daily wildflower tour. Everything is popping in my yard, need to get some pics this weekend. DH is leaving town for a week, a whole week. My mind is swirling with all the the projects I want to tackle with a whole week of uninterrupted (except for the times I must go to the office) time for myself.

Easy? Yes. Quick? My Ass!

Lacestole_copyThis may not be the most challenging of patterns, but is taking me FOREVER to finish. This Lacy Stole is knit with Louet’s EuroFlax linen in a rich charcoal color. It’s lovely but thin, which is why it’s taken me forever to finish. I have only one skein to go….enlisted the help of DH last night to wind the ball and I’m gonna finish this thing. I realize that because I cast on long before the Olympic Torch was lit that this project may not qualify for the Knitting Olpimpics, but it’s kinda become my own Cross Country Ski event. So in the spirit of the Yarn Harlot’s Knitting Olympics I will commit to finishing this before the last damn “hamill camel”.
