I Promise to not Bitch About the Weather all Summer

WeatherBut it is a bit hot. It’s surprising that my LYS is bustling as usual. Nice to know I’m not the only freak knitting in this heat. Crank down the air conditioning and pour a cup of coffee—you can almost fool yourself. I’ve started a lace stole in Euroflax linen, had to pop out to buy bamboo circulars because stitches kept slipping off my addi turbos. With 112 stitches to manage I felt I was going to cry if they slipped once more. That fiber is a slippery bugger.

Bigger & Badder SNB Big Bad Baby Blanket

Dsc05476jpg_1This is Albert’s blanket which he received this weekend. I used a way chunkier yarn for the blanket because I simply do not have the patience to knit 1000 plus yards of worsted weight yarn. I knit it with a wool/acrylic blend on size 13 needles. It was so soft and lovely after washing it. Hope he’s snuggly in it this winter. It’s nice and heavy, so I think it will be very comforting. I also whipped up an apple hat…pictures in Fini photo album. I needed a quick project before I began yet another blanket for the another friend’s baby.

Shit, he’s early…

I am so close to finishing Albert’s blanket….about 6 inches to be exact. I was so sure I’d beat him to the finish line, but I was wrong. Can’t wait to see the little munchkin. It’s way too hot to use the blanket now, it’s been around 100º for days now.

I did buy some beautiful Euroflax linen yarn last week and plan on whipping up a feather and fan stole as soon as young Albert’s blankie is handed over.
