DH finally returned from surfing in Mexico, tanned, well rested and SORE. Not many have the cojones to learn to surf at 43, hats off to DH. He had fun. He was back a mere 8 hours when the pack of piranha puppies ate his only souvenir t-shirt. sucky. He's been gone and obviously didn't pick up on the fact that I've removed everything from the floor in the middle room and into the still empty guest room for safekeeping. The mangy mutts are on the mend and will be able to move on in a week or so. Not sure if we will keep the Zigster…he's a cutey, but so much time and energy to take care of new pup. Callie has finally started to mellow a bit, be a shame to mix it up now, but who knows. DH seemed a little miffed at the suggestion of finding him a home. Hmmm.
The gladiolas…. my surprise garden has revealed silvery spring green swords stabbing up and will no doubt flaunt their blooms in a couple weeks. Why fucking gladiolas? I'm not saying I don't like them, I just don't like them in my garden…who died? Not to mention these plants are so inappropriate for this climate and require an embarrassing use of water in an always drought ridden state. The neighbor said that the previous owner was cited by Joe Roller on numerous occasions for not complying with watering restrictions. He got caught when he would sneak out in the middle of the night to crank up the hose…. no wonder. I'm more about planting natives that require little water to survive. Oh, that reminds me I need to find out where to purchase rain barrels to collect rainwater around the house.
Oh hey, it's the first full day of spring! yeeha!

Pooped out
Clearly everyone is exhausted at our house…. we are seriously thinking about keeping the spotty boy. There are couple more pics in the labahoula gallery. I told DH that it may just be here when he gets back from his surfung holiday. We’ve named him Ziggy Stardust. Callie is still very much in love with mothering him.
Jury’s still out on my vintage apron curtain. I had planned on making them for both kitchen windows by the table, but it was too much. I’ve hung them over the sink….maybe, maybe not. kinda miss looking at the rusted metal building.
Love comes scratchin’
Okay, so yesterday I’m on my way to work and I almost run over these two sweet puppies, who were obvoiusly dumped by someone without a heart. I say this but last night I gave them a new story… that they were just hobos who were happy ridin’ the rails, eating beans out of a can, bumming cigarettes and sleeping under bridges. I like it better than the truth. They are only about 8-10 weeks old and we think a Labrador/Catahoula mix. Our Catahoula Callie has taken a liking (and a licking) to the spotty one… so he may be home. We’ll see, I’m not trying too hard to find him a home. The black will move into his new home next weekend, when his new family( 3 kids!) gets back from Spring Break. In the meantime he’s been dewormed, deflead and will just catch up on some zz’s and some much needed calorie intake. Make sure you look at new album at left.
