All a Buzz

BeehiveDH and I are heading out into the country to poke our noses around strange homes. I finished this beehive a week or so ago, but couldn’t post until I sewed on bee buttons because you wouldn’t know what the hell it was. I have begun a hybrid design which with choice of color can be either a clover or a berry…check out WIPs to see start of this. Will post pics of my linen stole (in progress) later.

Missing Miss bean

46424826dsc_4956scarfpassedI told my mom weeks ago I’d post this photo. Amazing how the scarf looks just like the hydrangea, isn’t it? This is actually one of my first knitting projects. I learned to knit around Thanksgiving and went crazy knitting for Christmas.
DH and I have started the long suffering, humbling process of buying our first home. Unfortunately I made more money waiting tables than I do at my high stress, high visibilty, cool job so we’re looking out in the country…Austin’s just too deep for our pockets.
I woke up this morning and thought I felt Bean (my kitty who passed on recently) sleeping on my leg…it was weird.

I Promise to not Bitch About the Weather all Summer

WeatherBut it is a bit hot. It’s surprising that my LYS is bustling as usual. Nice to know I’m not the only freak knitting in this heat. Crank down the air conditioning and pour a cup of coffee—you can almost fool yourself. I’ve started a lace stole in Euroflax linen, had to pop out to buy bamboo circulars because stitches kept slipping off my addi turbos. With 112 stitches to manage I felt I was going to cry if they slipped once more. That fiber is a slippery bugger.
