While I fully realize I could whip one of these up myself… I probably wouldn't and why not support another crafter. I know that most of us crafty bloggers do this, because we all value handmade items.

Today I am settling into a long weekend… the weather is cold enough to curl up. I have slept so much this week… hibernating really. I need to scoot out to buy a birthday gift for a friend, but plan on baking banana bread when I return and knitting n the kitchen. I find myself utilizing the kitchen as craft/print/studio space more and more these days. I was so damn excited about having a guest/craft room to myself but soon discovered it was trés inconvenient when I was sewing. All the good counter and table space is in the kitchen. Oh well, you never really know how you're going to live in a space until you… well, do. It's almost like a pioneer kitchen now… sans the wood stove.

My Superhuman Power & Top Chef
I don't know about you but I squealed when I heard this week's "Quick Fire Challenge". Padma and Season 3 winner Hung Huynh unveiled shelves full of ordinary pantry staples…well the kind you'd find in a home kitchen anyway. Everyone looked stunned, but Jeff was the most horrified. Really?
I laughed mostly because it reminded me of a question a co-worker once asked me. We were waiting tables together and he asked, " If you could have any superhuman power, what would it be?" I replied enthusiastically with, "the ability to make tasty and nutritious meals with barely anything in the cupboard." he stared at me, shook his head, and snapped, "that is so sad."
Oh, Jorge, I beg to differ.

Each month we have some kind of "wrap" party on final deadline day. Today, we are having milk and cookies. While it's true we are all legally adult, we will all file into the
conference room in about 30 minutes to eat warm cookies and milk.
Speaking of adults… yesterday I was chatting with a young woman I work with. She recently started knitting so I see more of her than before. We were talking about our holidays and she mentioned her older sister (24) just got engaged over Christmas. This of course prompted me to ask her age. TWENTY TWO. Okay, now I knew she was young, but not that young. This Sunday I will be twice her age.
I am woefully behind on archiving my FOs for 2008… I hope to snap some pics and post by mid month. oh, that's next week.
