WORST dog mom ever

I have already managed to not keep my New Year’s resolution to wake up earlier (more often) and walk the dogs before work. I can’t believe I could resist this face this morning….so sad. I’ll excuse myself ‘cuz it’s deadline…but it is unfair. Callie, I promise to get home as early as possible to walk you today…rain or shine, looks like rain.

I plan to start my first adult size sweater this weekend (finally) and sew a cushion cover for my porch swing. I will be testing recipes for work this weekend… migas, granola, blacberry blue corn muffins, and pear rosemary bread. I also need to plant some iris bulbs, even if it’s late. Not a bad way to spend a cold (by Texas standards), rainy, three day weekend.

The longer I live in Texas the more I am ready for Spring to begin the DAY after my birthday. I mean, without the snow…winter can be bleak.

Dingo Dreams

Album_foxI’ve had some strange dreams about my new dog. And although I recounted these dreams to DH’s horror at a dinner party over the weekend, I’d thought I’d still share them. The night before I dropped her off for her first vet visit I had a dream that the vet called me at work to tell me that I’d brought home a coyote, not a dog. The other night I had a dream that she had somehow turned into a little girl and was up on two legs walking around the house while we were sleeping, now that one is a little creepy…you must admit. The other morning I popped in the latest Neko Case CD and upon glancing upon the cover thought, hmmmmm is this what set that off? interesting, well to me at least. It’s all kinda “Little Red Riding Hood” to me. Did anyone ever have that doll that you flipped the skirt over and she became the grandma, you flipped the hat and it became the wolf? Well, more as I figure out what this all means, or I just roll with it (that’s my usual move, FYI)

new week, new name

Okay so this weekend I decided on another name for our sweet new dog…I’ve named her Maisy Blue. It just suits her better. All the dogs seem to like eachother just fine. My little Bossy Terrorist is being, well a terrier. Here he is being his hilarious self this morning…
