Can we please stop with the comments on folksy charm… really. Didn't anyone ever see A Face in the Crowd?

A coworker of mine overheard a McCain/Palin supporter say that she thought Ms. Palin's blunders made her more adorable. More adorable, really? I mean this isn't your cute, hungover waitress f#@*ing up your brunch order, she's running for VP.

I don't know about you, but I'd hate for everyone to have such low expectations of me that I am applauded for not doing a poor job.

I cannot wait for vacation… or this election to be over. Does it seem like it's been like 7 years long?

Happy First Day of Fall!

I know the temperature is about 90º today but I am determined to begin fall today with the rest of you. I love fall, or more accurrately, I love October… which is right around the corner.

Today, I am working from home. I have a pot roast in the crock pot and I'm working on this…

After much thought and consideration, we finally decided to give No Bark Collar a try with Callie Jo. She's a Catahoula and will tree a squirrel and bark at it for 7 hours… and is undeterred. We finally came to the conclusion that it was more humane than letting her get shot by a neighbor ( We o live in small town Texas. Yesterday she was very surprised… today she is just staring at squirrels.

Here she is napping and waiting for pot roast.

I mean… who would not want this quilt?

I was just sifting through previous posts and was looking longingly at the lovely green and luscious garden I had earlier this summer. The heat was just unbearable for the tomatoes after July was upon us. I do have some eggplant, tomatillos and jalapeños growing, and choking in the heat. It’s either time to plant an actual fall crop or cutting flowers. I’m leaning heavily toward the latter.

The quilt? Look to your right to find out about the giveaway at Old Red Barn Co. Jury’s still out on the video.
