It may be like this where you live all winter, but it’s a freak occurrence here. I did hope to get some pics of the icey bowed pines and the amazing muffins I’ve made this morning but my camera needs some help. Luckily my mom knows more than I do about these things and it looks like no pics for a while. I’ve started my own damn sweater finally. I’m knitting the Blanket Cardigan from Sarah Dallas Knitting in a heathery green Cascade 220. It’s the sweater featured on the cover. Not too exciting but really pretty in it’s loose construction and simplicity.

Today is my birthday….obviously this photo was taken more than a couple years ago… It’s remarkable how many of the crafty bloggers I read regularly are also celebrating birthdays this week… Happy Birthday ladies. Sadly my birthday has fallen on the magazine’s final deadline. Maybe not too much fun, but there is a cake and some flowers from my fellow production folk. I think tonight I will get in my pajamas and make some pancakes for dinner (think the hubbie will be home late too), soak in a hot tub, watch ANYTHING on TV and knit. These are the kinda birthdays one dreads at 25, but relishes at 42. wow, 42.

I woke up this morning just so thrilled to find such a golden sunny morning. The air is a bit chilly (evident in my three dog’s reluctance to wake from their slumber) but the sun is a warm butterscotch. We had such a great day yesterday. We had a few friends and their dogs. We are the house that everyone brings their dogs, we had one dog for every person. Maybe that’s why they are so sleepy.
DH (santa) gave me the most wonderful bunch of artwork….pics later. I was also gifted with a swift and my friends found an old ladie’s stash of knitting needles, in their silk roll and all. Notice there is actually a bit of teensy knitting on on of the willowy double pointeds. This gift is such a treasure.

Proof that I am indeed knitting these days.

…and I have finally powered up the Singer, if only for draft dodgers….a necessity in an old drafty house.
